Bill summary
House committee substitute to the 1st edition makes the following changes.
Regarding the grounds for disqualification for registration as an interior designer set out in proposed GS 93F-7, makes the applicant or registrant's demonstration of gross malpractice or gross incompetency grounds for disqualification, as determined by the Department of Insurance rather than the Board.
Adds to GS 93F-13 to specify that the Chapter does not preclude an unregistered interior designer from the practice of interior design. Additionally, exempts from the Chapter's provisions interior decorators, licensed design professionals, licensed attorneys, licensed general contractors, and unregistered interior designers so long as the professional is engaged in the proper scope of their respective profession.
