    Senate amendment to the 1st edition makes the following changes. 

    Part I. 

    Corrects the spelling of the name of the appointee from Wake County to the UNC Health Care System's Board of Directors. Corrects the term and county of the appointment to the UNC Health Care System's Board of Directors so that the appointment originally reading from Duplin County is now Durham County and the start of the appointment is November 1, 2023 (was, November 1, 2024). 

    Part II. 

    Removes the Speaker of the House's appointments from Gaston County, Mecklenburg County, and Wake County to the America's Semiquincentennial Committee. 

    Appoints the specified person to the North Carolina Board of Transportation upon the recommendation of the Speaker of the House, for the specified term.

    Amends Section 1.39 of SL 2023-113 to shorten the end-date of the named appointee's term on the State Board of Proprietary Schools from December 31, 2030, to December 31, 2029. Amends Section 1.75 of SL 2023-113 to shorten the named appointee's term on the UNC Center for Public Media Board of Trustees from June 30, 2027, to June 30, 2025.

    Appoints the specified persons to Special Superior Court or Superior Court judgeships upon the recommendation of the Speaker of the House, effective on the specified date, with terms expiring as provided.

    Amends Section 2.7 of SL 2023-113 to extend the named appointees' terms on the North Carolina Brain Injury Council from June 30, 2027, to September 30, 2027.

    Amends Section 2.33 of SL 2023-113 to change the appointee from Catawba County to the Justus-Warren Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Task Force.

    Amends Section 2.41 of SL 2023-113 to shorten the end-date of the terms of the named appointees to the North Carolina Professional Educator Preparation and Standards Commission from August 31, 2025, to August 31, 2024.

    Amends Section 2.46 of SL 2023-113 to extend the end-date of the term of the named appointee to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission from June 30, 2026, to July 31, 2026. 

    Amends Section 2.56 of SL 2023-113 to extend the end-date of the term of the named appointee to the State Water Infrastructure from June 30, 2025, to July 1, 2025. 

    Amends Section 2.75 of SL 2023-113 to shorten the end-date of the term of the named appointee to the UNC Center for Public Media Board of Trustees from June 30, 2027, to June 30, 2025.

    Specifies that terms begin when the act becomes law unless otherwise provided.
