Amends GS 143-215.31(a1)(2)d. by exempting a dam that is less than 15 feet in height or that has an impoundment capacity of less than 50 acre-feet from the requirement to include a downstream inundation map in its emergency action plan, unless site-specific factors justify the inclusion of a map.
Clarifies that a downstream inundation map for an emergency action plan does not have to be prepared by a licensed professional engineer or a person under their supervision unless the dam is associated with a coal combustion residuals surface impoundment by adding new GS 143-215.31(a1)(2a).
Effective and applicable to all emergency action plans submitted or updated on or after July 1, 2025.
