Grants the Pitt County Board of Education (board) the flexibility to depart from the school calendar parameters of GS 115C-84.2(d) in determining the opening and closing dates for its public schools for the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 school years. Requires the board to hold a public hearing on whether to depart from the requirements, and upon deciding to depart from the requirements based on parent and community input at the hearing, requires the board to hold an additional hearing before selecting the opening and closing dates for its schools. Requires the board to report to the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) on the act's implementation and any related recommendations, as specified, by October 3, 2023. Requires DPI to provide an evaluation of these reports and provide an aggregated report to the specified NCGA committee by November 21, 2023.
