Bill summary
Amends GS 143133.3 to prohibit boards and governing bodies of the State, institutions of State government, and political subdivisions of the State from entering contracts unless the contractor and any subcontractors verify the work authorization of each employee through Everify. Compliance is satisfied by a term in the contract stating the requirement.
Effective October 1, 2017, and applies to contracts awarded on or after that date.
