AN ACT TO ALLOW THE TOWNS OF APEX, CARY, GARNER, KNIGHTDALE, MORRISVILLE, ROLESVILLE, WAKE FOREST, AND ZEBULON AND THE COUNTY OF YANCEY, AND ALL OF THE MUNICIPALITIES IN THAT COUNTY, TO TRANSFER RETIRED SERVICE ANIMALS OWNED BY THAT TOWN TO THE OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE WHO HAD NORMAL CUSTODY AND CONTROL OF THE ANIMAL.

House committee substitute makes the following changes to the 2nd edition.

Adds new Section 1.5 to the bill to provide that if House Bill 550 (Raleigh Apodaca Service Dog Retirement Act, a statewide service animal retirement bill which encompasses all the provisions of this bill) becomes law, then this act, which enacts GS 160A-279.5, disposition of animals for specified towns and Yancy County, will be repealed.
