AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT IT IS A FELONY TO ASSAULT HOSPITAL PERSONNEL AND LICENSED HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS WHO ARE PROVIDING OR ATTEMPTING TO PROVIDE SERVICES IN A HOSPITAL. Enacted June 19, 2015. Effective December 1, 2015.

Senate committee substitute makes the following changes to the 1st edition.
Amends the long title.
Amends GS 14-34.6 to make it a Class I felony to assault hospital personnel and licensed healthcare providers that are providing or attempting to provide health care services to a patient in a hospital (was, physicians, physicians' assistants, nurses and licensed nurse practitioners who are hospital personnel).
