House committee substitute makes the following changes to 3rd edition.
Specifies that the proposed regulations do not apply to landscaping work costing less than $3,500 (was, less than $2,500) during a one-year period. Clarifies that the Landscape Contractors’ Licensing Board may issue a license in the corporation’s name if the licensed individuals execute contracts in the corporation’s name and are readily available to exercise supervision over the work (previously required direct supervision). Deletes license fee and several other fees added in the previous version and restores fees to the types and amounts under current law. Makes conforming changes. Allows issuance of a license without exam to any person who meets one of the specified conditions on or before December 31, 2012 (was, 2011), provided the person submits an application and fee on or before August 1, 2013 (was, 2012). Clarifies that landscape contractors currently registered need not renew registration for 2013 (was, 2012) to qualify for the license. Modifies an activity in the definition for landscape contractor and makes other clarifying changes. Makes the repeal of the current statutes regulating landscape contractors effective August 1, 2013 (was, 2012).
