Bill summary
Amends GS 113274(c)(1a) to require owners or lessees who take wildlife while committing depredations upon the property to notify the Wildlife Resources Commission (Commission) within 24 hours by email or an internetbased reporting process. Authorizes the Commission to impose a duty to avoid wanton waste (defined as killing or crippling big game without making a reasonable effort to retrieve and properly dispose of the animal) on wildlife taken by an owner or lessee of land on their property. Authorizes the Commission to issue temporary rules to implement the act.
Effective October 1, 2017.
