A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT AMENDING THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MONROE TO REMOVE THE PROVISION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO HAVE DIRECT SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY OVER THE CITY ATTORNEY AND TO PROVIDE THAT VACANCIES ON THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ARE NOT FILLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH G.S. 153A-27.1.Intro. by Horn, Arp, Brody.

Senate amendment makes the following changes to the 1st edition:
Changes the long title.
Provides that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners is increased by two members, effective when the act becomes law, until the first Monday in December 2014. Appoints Diane Honeycutt and Grace Mynatt to fill those two seats. Directs the newly appointed members to take the oath of office at the first regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners.
