    Amends GS 41A-4 to make discrimination on the basis of source of income an unlawful discriminatory practice under the State Fair Housing Act, GS Chapter 41A. Amends GS 41A-3 to defineĀ source of income as lawful sources of money, including income or rental payments received from a grant, loan program, the State or federal government or any local governmental unit, including the HOPE program or Section 8 voucher, or financial assistance from a private source, including a nonprofit or other governmental entity, in addition to income derived from a lawful profession or occupation. Makes conforming changes to GS 41A-5 (Proof of Violation) and GS 41A-6 (Exemptions). Effective October 1, 2023.
