Amends GS 115C-105.37 to limit the identification of low-performing schools by the State Board of Education to schools that earn an overall school performance grade of D or F and a school growth score of "not met expected growth", as defined by state law (previously, also included schools with the specified overall performance grade and a school growth score of "met expected growth). Makes conforming changes to the parental notice requirements for identification of low-performing schools set forth in GS 115C-105.37. Applies to identification of low-performing schools based on data from the 2025-26 school year.
CHANGE TO LOW-PERFORMING SCHOOLS DESIGNATION.
