AN ACT AMENDING THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF GREENSBORO TO PROVIDE THAT THE CITY SHALL COLLECT PAST-DUE CHARGES FOR UTILITY SERVICES OWED BY A TENANT WHO IS LIABLE FOR THE CHARGES IN THE MANNER PROVIDED BY GENERAL LAW INSTEAD OF PLACING A LIEN UPON THE RENTAL PROPERTY. Amends Section 6.83, as amended, of the Greensboro Charter to provide that Greensboro will proceed in accordance with GS 160A-314 (city's authority to fix and enforce rates) for utility charges on rental property that become past due after July 1, 2010, and for which the tenants are individually liable.
