AN ACT TO REQUIRE A REFERENDUM ON WHETHER TO CHANGE THE ELECTION METHOD FOR THE ALEXANDER COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION FROM NONPARTISAN TO PARTISAN. SL 2023-41. Enacted June 14, 2023. If the majority of the votes cast in the referendum in Section 3 are in favor of the question, Section 1 is effective with respect to elections conducted in 2026 and thereafter and Section 2 is effective December 1, 2026. The remainder of the act is effective when it becomes law.
