Amends the requirements in GS 115C-12 regarding high school diploma endorsements to add that the purpose is to encourage students to obtain job skills necessary for a student to be successful in a wide range of high-quality careers, and requires that the endorsement reflect reading achievement. Makes the award of high school diploma endorsements contingent upon a student achieving specified performance levels on nationally norm-referenced college admissions tests for reading. Amends the required information in the report under this statute to include information on students' performance on these tests.
Applies beginning with high school diploma endorsements awarded in the 2018-19 school year.
