Amends GS 8423(a) to direct that the Judicial Standards Commission, and not the North Carolina State Bar's Council, has the exclusive jurisdiction over discipline of any judge or justice of the General Court of Justice for conduct occurring while in office. Specifies that the Council has the jurisdiction, authority, and procedure for discipline of any conduct occurring before the judge's election or appointment.
Amends GS 8428(a) and GS 7A374.1 to make conforming changes.
