    Current law provides that all of the powers granted by Article 19 of GS Chapter 160A, concerning planning and regulation of development in cities and towns, may be exercised by any city within its corporate limits and within a defined area extending not more than one mile beyond its limits.

    This act amends GS 160A-360 to require approval of the board of county commissioners for the city to exercise the powers granted by Article 19 within a defined area not more than one mile beyond its limits.

    Applies to the Town of Andrews in Cherokee County only.
