Bill summary
Amends GS 115C-84.2(d) (concerning school opening and closing dates), as it applies to the Orange County and Chapel-Hill Carrboro City School administrative units, providing that, except for year-round schools, the opening date for students will be no earlier than August 9 and the closing date for students will be no later than the Friday closest to June 11. Allows local boards to revise the scheduled closing date if necessary in order to comply with the minimum requirements for instructional days or instructional time.
Applies beginning with the 2013-14 school year.
