Bill summary

Amends GS 14-269(a) to add plastic knuckles to the list of items which it is unlawful to willfully and intentionally carry concealed on one’s person except on one’s own property. Amends GS 14-269.2 to make it a Class 1 misdemeanor to commit the following offenses on educational property, as defined: (1) possess or carry plastic knuckles, whether openly or concealed, or (2) to cause, encourage, or aid a minor in possessing or carrying, whether openly or concealed, plastic knuckles. Amends GS 14-315(a) to make it a Class 1 misdemeanor to sell, offer for sale, give, or in any way transfer plastic knuckles to a minor.
Effective December 1, 2011 and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
