Amends GS 14424. Changes the crime of debt adjusting from a Class 2 misdemeanor to a Class 1 misdemeanor, and establishes a Class H felony for the crime of debt adjusting if the business or practice involves an aggregate payment of money or property by one or more debtors valued at $5,000 or more, or the business or practice involves five or more debtors.
Effective December 1, 2017, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
