Amends GS 15A-266.3A(f), offenses for which DNA samples and testing must be obtained, deleting various felony offenses from the list and adding language that requires DNA samples testing to be obtained for any felony offense. Provides that it is also required for any misdemeanor offense which would require registration under the Sex Offender and Public Protection Registration Programs (Programs) (previously, stated any offense under the Programs). Also adds the following offenses to the list: GS 14-43.12, failure of a party to a labor contract to report involuntary servitude; 14-27.5A, sexual battery; 14-27.7, intercourse and sexual offenses with certain victims (school personnel less than 4 years older than the victim); and 14-40, enticing minors out of the State for the purpose of employment.
Effective October 1, 2016, applying to offenses committed on or after that date.
COLLECT DNA FOR ALL FELONY ARRESTS.
